Have fun playing a whole pile of games with these free printable colored hearts playing cards. The kids can practice learning their colors while playing a variety of card games they love. This is the perfect take-a-long activity for the little ones and is a fun activity for Valentine’s day too.
Printable Colored Hearts Playing Cards
This printable card kit comes pre-colored. All you need to do is download, print and cut. Then you’re ready to play! You’ll need to print out 2 to 4 sets of these cards depending one which games you’d like to play. The printable card set comes with both the colored hearts playing card art and the patterned heart design for the back of the cards.
To make these cards:
- Print page 1 of the set on to white cardstock.
- Place the printed pages back in the printer and print page 2 on the same pages. You should end up with the printed hearted on one side of the page and the heart pattern on the other side of the paper.
- Cut out each card and enjoy!
These printable colored hearts playing cards come with 9 colored hearts, red, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white and gray. Each card includes a heart in a single color and the associated color text. Practice learning colors by sight or by reading with these free playing cards.
Games you can play with these colored hearts playing cards:
Go Fish – print out 4 sets of cards. Each player gets 6 cards. The rest of the cards sit on the table, face down, spread out to represent a “fishing pond”. Each player takes a turn by asking a one other player if they have a single match to one card (“Sarah, do you have a pink heart?”). If the player asked (player B) has the requested card, they give the card to the player asking (player A). If player B does not have a match, they reply “no, go fish”. Player A then takes a card from fishing pond. Player A continues to take turns until they come up without a match. Each player sets their matched pairs face up on the table in front of their seat. Continue taking turns until one player runs out of cards in their hand. The player with the most matched pairs wins.
Memory/Match game – print out 2 sets of cards. Lay all the cards out on the table face down. Players take turns flipping over two cards. If the cards match, the player keeps the cards and takes another turn. If the cards do not match, the player player takes a turn. Play until all cards are removed from the table. The player with the most matches wins.
