Halloween Spider Craft
Every year, I spend so much time looking for fun Halloween activities for my kiddos.
This cute little spider is sure to bring on the giggles for little ones as they watch him bounce around. It is one of those perfect Halloween crafts for toddlers to enjoy.
Making the spider is very simple and it is a quick fifteen minute project that will lead to lots of fun and play. This is one of my favorite kids activities for toddlers.
Supplies Needed To Make This Bouncing Spider Craft For Kids:
Not many, at all! Most of this, you probably already have around the house. That’s part of what makes this such an easy Halloween craft. (This post contains affiliate links.)
- Empty egg carton
- Black paint
- Two black chenille sticks – also called pipe cleaners!
- Two googly eyes
- A stick or a piece of dowel
- One large elastic band
- Glue
- Scissors
How To Make This Bouncing Halloween Spider Craft:
Step 1
Cut a section from the egg carton and paint it black. This will be the spider’s body.
Step 2
Cut each of the black pipe cleaners in half, so you now have four lengths.
Step 3
Pierce a hole in each side of the spider’s body. Now push all four lengths of chenille stick through the hole on one side of the spider and out again through the other hole. You now have eight spider legs. If you like, you can bend the ends to form feet.
Step 4
Glue the two googly eyes on to the spider’s face.
Step 5
Pierce a hole on the top of the spider.
Step 6
Take your elastic band and cut it so that it is no longer a circle, but one long length of elastic.
Step 7
Tie a knot at one end and then thread the elastic through the hole on the top of the spider so that the knot is on the inside. Tie the other end of the elastic to your stick or dowel.
You’re done! It’s time to start playing! Wasn’t that just too easy?
(Almost as easy as our no carve pumpkin ideas!)
This craft is really perfect for young ones still working to define their motor skills.
I recommend it for kids preschool to kindergarten, but anyone can enjoy it, really. Once you’re done making this to entertain your toddler, our pumpkin activities are great for older kids.
Another thing I’ve done in the past is turn this into a super cute Halloween Door decoration with the addition of some cheap fake spider webs!
